Character Is Refined By Learning How To Use Principle While Refusing To Use People.

Matthew 20:28 (NIV)
“Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”

Over the years, I have seen far too many people use other people in the name of God. We must never use others for our own benefit. When two individuals enter a relationship with only the thought of giving, they will both end up being receivers. What I personally plan on bringing to any relationship is give/give, not give/take. When the other person enters the relationship feeling the same duty and responsibility to give/give, the benefits for both of us will be abundant!
This reciprocity, this interdependence and complementary exchange, becomes impossible if you have entered into a relationship with someone who uses others. Regretfully, our society is filled with depraved individuals who use their relationships to feed their own greed and perverted lusts. Jesus never used people; He came to serve others and to give Himself completely. Your character will be refined when you learn to use principle and not people.

Confession“Father, I thank You that as the Son of Man came to serve, I posture myself as a servant in all my relationships.”
